Princess Rajwa Due Date, Prince Hussein Expecting 1st Baby With Wife

Congratulations are in order! Princess Rajwa’s due date is getting nearer as Crown Prince Hussein and the Princess from Jordan announced they’re expecting. This is the royal couple’s first baby together after they wed in 2023

“The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein are expecting their first baby this summer,” The Royal Hashemite Court said in the announcement. “The Royal Hashemite Court extends its sincere congratulations to Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on this occasion and wishes Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa good health and joy as they welcome their baby.”

This will also be the first grandchild of Queen Rania, 53, and King Abdullah, 62. According to Gert’s Royals on X, the baby will have His/Her Royal Highness titles. “If the baby is a boy, he will be 2nd in line to the throne. (The Jordan Constitution allows the Monarch to appoint a brother an heir, instead of eldest son. So, the baby could technically get bypassed, but not likely).”

In an interview with Vogue Arabia published in May 2023, Crown Prince Hussein revealed how he met his wife. “I met Rajwa through an old friend from school. I consider myself lucky because it is not every day you meet someone like Rajwa.” Princes Rajwa has a degree in architecture from Syracuse University in New York. She also has a professional designation degree in visual communications from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. Crown Prince Hussein is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in England and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

The Royal couple married on June 1, 2023. Among the attendees were British Royal Family Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton, Princess Beatrice and her husband. Other dignataries include Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, First Lady Jill Biden, Queen Sofia of Spain, Frederik X, King of Denmark, and his wife, Queen Mary, and Brunei Prince Abdul Mateen.

The pregnancy announcement also comes two months after the death of Princess Rajwa’s father Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al Saif. The court shared announcement shared on their website: “The Royal Hashemite Court mourns the passing of the father of Her Royal Highness Princess Rajwa Al Hussein, Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al Saif, may his soul rest in peace. By His Majesty King Abdullah’s orders, the Royal Hashemite Court has announced three days of mourning, as of Sunday, 18 February 2024.”

“The Royal Hashemite Court expresses its deepest sympathies and condolences to Their Majesties King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein, and to Al Saif family in these difficult times,” it continued.
