Prepare for the Kayali Candy Rock Sugar Hype

Kayali Candy Rock Sugar is a new perfume upcoming shortly for the Summer 2024 season. This new gourmand fragrance contains notes of Candied Pear, Sweet Violet, Bubblegum, White Caramel, Rock Sugar, and Vanilla Cream. Sounds dreamy doesn’t it? I absolutely love gourmands as you well know but I gotta admit Kayali has def disappointed me in the gourmand realm lately. Kayali launched in 2018 with four fragrances which I purchased I believe I purchased during the Spring Sale if I recall correctly! I absolutely loved them at the time (and still do). The thing I’m not thrilled with when it comes to Kayali is the odd way it went from being “too expensive for a non-niche brand” in the fragrance community to suddenly becoming an absolute must buy. I’m so happy Kayali has evolved, introduced new scents, and gained such a great following. What I don’t love is the overhype of some of the newer scents. A lot of Tiktokers rave on and on and on about the newest Kayali fragrances and I sadly fail see the hype. For example, Kayali newest fragrance Eden Sparkling Lychee and Yum Pistachio Gelato were really overexposed and overhyped. I expected incredible things from Yum Pistachio Gelato because not only were some of my favorite fragrance influencers amazed with it but also, the marketing was just so damn beautiful I was positive that it was going to smell like a creamy pistachio ice cream dessert. Thankfully, I didn’t go into my purchase blind buying a large bottle because it was a rather disappointing scent. Eden Sparkling Lychee which carries the same name as Kayali Eden Juicy Apple was a similar experience. As a lover of Eden Juicy Apple I expected a sweet, fruity blend from the lychee version but it fell flat for me too and was equally overhyped.

Gourmand Perfumes are really having their moment in the sun (particularly vanilla ones) and with Summer on the horizon I’m pretty sure everyone wants to wear something sweeter or fruiter and Kayali Candy Rock Sugar sounds like it’ll fit the bill in the sweet department. I’m not sure I love the violet part of the fragrance but they had me at caramel, rock sugar, and vanilla cream not to mention bubblegum! The only reason the violet has me concerned is I don’t want this to be some sort of Guerlain Meteorites Le Parfum. I like the smell of Guerlain’s violet fragrance but not sure I need another version of it in my life. I’d like something sweeter and more original from Candy Rock Sugar.

When will Kayali Candy Rock Sugar be available and how do we even know it’s releasing? Apparently, this was sneakily offered as a sample during Sephora Canada’s checkout. Many Reddit users have already tried and smelled the sample they got. As far the release date on Kayali Candy Rock Sugar we don’t yet have one but if I were to guess I’d say late May. How much will it be? I imagine the same price as the normal range of fragrances which start at $28 for a Travel Spray, $100 for 1.7 oz, $138 for 3.4 oz, and .33 oz for $32.

I suspect the marketing on this is going to be even MORE amazing than Yum Pistachio Gelato 33. It’s going to entice and tempt us all to purchase it! I know I was tempted by Yum Pistachio Gelato for sure do to the many real commercials posted on Instagram. I need to stay strong though and make sure I smell this before I indulge as lately I’m a little iffy on Kayali fragrances.

Do you think Kayali Candy Rock Sugar will be a winner?
