And it’s fun to try something that Netflix hasn’t tried before.”

Last year, he performed a whopping total of 115 shows across three continents on his PROBLEMATTIC World Tour. The shows sold out so fast that it crashed Ticketmaster servers for selling 600,000 tickets in under 48 hours.

Though he has burgeoning success now, he had very humble beginnings. He was paid only a thousand dollars when he was on Wild ‘N Out and departed the show soon after. He found success on social media with the help of his fans and released his first special Only Fans on YouTube with the help of crowdfunding. His GoFundMe campaign, raised close to $30,000. He told Youshaei, “I think $15,000 or $20,000 was what I was really praying for, and for some reason, people were so supportive. People really believed in me and wanted this product.”

Rife’s specials continue to perform very well on Youtube and Netflix. Only Fans has over 13 million views on YouTube and his Netflix special Natural Selection raked in more than 10 million views in the first few weeks.

Rife also revealed that Dave Chappelle helped him save $700,000 when he was trying to negotiate deals with his lawyer. “You can’t have an ego about this job,” he told Youshaei. “You can’t sit here and go ‘I know how this is supposed to be done.’ You don’t. I’m 28-years-old. He’s 50. Do I really think I know better than him at any aspect of this job?”
