Is Wanda Really Dead in Agatha All Along?

Welcome back to Westview! Agatha All Along opens up with a harrowing scene of Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) investigating the death of Jane Doe who was found on the outskirts of town. She laments over the hidden identity of the woman and how she died, but viewers know those black-tipped fingers anywhere.

The show is introduced as Agnes of Westview, a lá Mare Of Eastown, a true crime show where Agnes is trying to juggle normal life and her life in the police…except when Detective Rio Vidal butts in, she reveals that Agnes is actually Agatha the witch, and she finds a teenager who can’t reveal his name to her. When visiting the morgue, Agatha finds out the body belongs to W. Maximoff aka Wanda Maximoff aka The Scarlet Witch. ICYM the events of Wandavision, Wanda cursed Agatha to live in Westview and forget her life as a witch. Wanda later dies in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness when Mount Wundagore collapses on her and destroys all copies of the Darkhold.

But is that body really Wanda’s? Or is there a bigger conspiracy unfolding?

Is Wanda really dead in Agatha All Along?

Yes, she is dead. But that’s not to say that the MCU has a couple of tricks pulled up their sleeves for upcoming episodes. Yes, we’ve seen her body, but we haven’t seen her face! Would you believe she’s really dead if her face was included?

Elizabeth Olsen confirmed her character’s death in an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! When asked by the late night host if she’s really dead, she responded, “I think so. I assume as much. Yeah, and there was a red light of explosive energy. I think I’m dead.” When Kimmel asked if she really wanted to be dead, she said, “I would beg to leave a window open. I had so much fun doing these movies. I would like to figure out how to cleverly be undead. We need to find the smartest writers to figure out how to make this all make sense. I’m open to ideas.” So, the door’s not closed!

But the real question is if the actress will return in Agatha All Along. In a press day with director Jac Schaeffer, The Wrap theorized that the body they found was The Scarlet Witch’s and not Wanda’s body. If you’re not caught up, they could be split into two different entities. She responded, “I am keeping such a good poker face. What I will say is like, I really like how your mind works. That’s my response to that theory.”

Other theories include that Wanda actually tried to bring back Agatha. “Teen may claim to have been the one that freed her but it seems more like it was a combination of Wanda, Teen, and Rio. Working together?” one person posted on Reddit. Will we see Wanda in the future? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
