Shayne Topp and Courtney Miller have been in Smosh for over a decade. The channel was founded by best friends Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla in 2002, but grew as a brand for their comedic Youtube videos and extended to gaming and other sketch comedy ventures. The channel went through dramatic changes as Anthony Padilla left Smosh in 2017 and Rhett & Link’s Mythical Entertainment acquired the company. Remaining in the company was Ian, Shayne, Courtney, Kevin Leak Jr., Olivia Sui, Noah Grossman, and Damien Hass.

Anthony would eventually return to the channel in 2023 and the old duo bought back the remaining shares from Rhett & Link. Nonetheless, Shayne and Courtney were a crucial part of the team and fans were totally surprised when the two posted wedding photos on April Fool’s Day.

Are Shayne Topp and Courtney Miller married?

It appears so! Courtney and Shayne posted photos of her in a white dress, a veil and holding a bouquet while Shayne appeared in a suit. The post was captioned, “Obviously. 3.29.24” and showed various wedding photos as well as the moment that Shayne proposed to Courtney.

Many Smosh fans took to social media to react and contemplate if the announcement was too good to be true. “Not shayne and courtney sitting back watching the world burn as people figure out if their wedding is real or an april fools joke,” one fan posted on X. Others looked back at previous Smosh content and saw all the context clues. One TikTok video revisited the time that Courtney “proposed” to Shayne as part of a bit and the Smosh fan captioned it with, “The way I’m 50/50 on whether this is a bit.”

One Redditor sent out their congratulations to the couple, “Throughout their almost ten year careers at Smosh, they’ve almost always shut down dating rumours but many fans have quietly rooted for them to be together so it’s so wonderful to see that they are, in fact, very happily together!”

The official Smosh channel fanned the flames when they posted an uncensored clip of a Courtney passionately confirming her wedding planning. “I make silly videos, of course I’m happy,” Courtney said while Ian replied, “You can be vulnerable with us!” She later responded, “You’re going to have to bleep this out, but I’m getting married.” When Ian commented that it would be a funny thing to censor, she exclaimed, “I’m getting f—ing married!”

Voice actress and friend of the married couple Shelby Young confirmed the nuptials. She posted on Instagram, “getting to celebrate one of your oldest and best friends marry their soulmate, who’s also become a truly amazing friend, is a 10/10 experience ily both sm @shaynetopp @co_mill” Courtney and Shayne’s wedding posts seem to still appear on their profiles as of April 3, 2024.
