It’s a pretty common practice now in the 2020s for Hollywood’s A-List actresses to embody the role they play—we saw it with Barbie and Margot Robbie, we’ve seen it with Zendaya and just about every movie she’s in. Now as Ari takes the big screen, she’s following the script: Ariana Grande’s flower dress is proof.

The singer wore a pink poofy Giambatista Valli dress to the Oscars and a pink and white flower mini dress from the Oscar de la Renta’s spring 2024 collection. Funnily enough, back in February, Ari posted a blurry photo of her wearing a similar Oscar de la Renta dress with multiple 3D flower apliqués.

Ariana Grande, a Broadway actress-turned-child television star-turned-pop star-turned-movie star, actually makes perfect sense for the movie adaptation of Wicked. She has the voice, obviously, the star power, and an archival closet full of baby pink performance looks. So though she did dye her hair blonde, get rid off the spray tan, and change her voice a little, stepping into Glinda has been pretty seamless.
