Camilla Cabello might have referenced the supposed love triangle between her, Sabrina Carpenter, and Shawn Mendes. The “I LUV IT” singer went on TikTok to promote one of her songs that’s allegedly about all of the drama.
Two days after the release of Sabrina’s album Short N’ Sweet, Camilla lipsynced on TikTok to her song “June Gloom” from her album C, XOXO which was released in June. “She’s cool, I heard / Won’t act surprised, I saw the pictures / We’re a house fire, for sure / Hope it’ll burn out, but it just gets bigger,” she sings. “If she’s so amazing /. Why are you on this side of town? / If you like her so much / What are you here tryna find out.”
Many fans took to the comments to allege that she was shading Sabrina while also claiming that she in fact also kind of looks like Sabrina as well. “promoting this song with the blonde hair is a whole other level & im here for it,” one person wrote. Another person wrote, “no i can’t handle another sabrina love triangle, the poor girl is TRYING to”
Sabrina’s latest album release caused speculation around the alleged love triangle. The “Espresso” singer alluded to another woman being involved in her romance with a man. The first track “Taste” includes the lyrics, “I heard you’re back together and if that’s true / You’ll just have to taste me when he’s kissin’ you/ If you want forever, I bet you do.”

In another song off Short N’ Sweet titled “Coincidence,” Sabrina sings, “The second I put my head on your chest / She knew, she’s got a real sixth sense / Now her name comes up once, then it comes up twice / And without her even bein’ here, she’s back in your life / Now she’s in the same damn city on the same damn night.”
Sabrina and Camila’s on-and-off boyfriend at the time Shawn Mendes were rumored to be dating for a month in March 2023. Shawn then allegedly reunited with Camila the following month Camila at Coachella in April 2023. “They’re enjoying getting reacquainted and seeing where it goes,” an insider told Page Six, noting that the exes, “care about each other a lot.” However, the two ended it for good in June 2023.
Sabrina sings about a man who is pretty manipulative but is neck deep in self care in “Dumb & Poetic.” She sings, “It’s just what I fall for, I like the aesthetic / Every self-help book, you’ve already read it / Cherry-pick lines like they’re words you invented / Gold star for highbrow manipulation.”
Sabrina hasn’t revealed who the subject matter in the song actually is. She told Zane Lowe on Apple Music Radio 1, “Songs like ‘Dumb & Poetic,’ a gentle acoustic ballad that’s also a blistering takedown of a guy who masks his sleazy tendencies with therapy buzzwords and a highbrow record collection.”
