Seven Summers by Paige Toon: love love love! 5 star read for me!
The Nightengale by Kristin Hannah: took me years to finish because it was too heartbreaking to read at night and I only ever read at night!
Here One Moment by Liane Moriarty: felt like this entire book was building to a shocking finish and was completely let down. It was a road to nowhere.
Summer Romance by Annabel Monaghan: really cute!
This Summer Will be Different by Carley Fortune: I love this author but I felt like this book only existed to create a lukewarm storyline from sex scene to sex scene. Wasn’t great.
Home is Where the Bodies Are by Jeneva Rose: twisty, heartbreaking, dark, not my typical genre but I liked it!
Evidence of the Affair A Short Story by Taylor Jenkins Reid: TJR is my favorite author of all time and this short story wrecked me.
The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren: as long as you know what to expect going into a Christina Lauren book, you’ll be fine. It’s going to be funny, sweet, spicy, a little silly, and that’s about all. Easy to read, light, simple.
Girl Underwater by Claire Kells: really loved this story! I was emotionally invested in a few of the characters and really loved the unique setting.
The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris: a crushing story told in WW2 times. It’s just absolutely unbelievable that people lived through that horror. It’s a hard read but I do think it’s important.
The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides: I don’t understand the hype around this book. Built to nothing.
Expiration Dates by Rebecca Serle: You have to be open-minded and like a little magic to enjoy this book, which I was. It felt refreshing to read something that was a little new/different.
How to Stay Married: The Most Insane Love Story Ever Told by Harrison Scott Key: a raw look into a marriage that suffered and how they endured. I really liked this and also laughed out loud several times.
Practice Makes Perfect by Sarah Adams: cute, easy to read!
Pack Up The Moon: A Novel by Kristan Higgins: I cried reading this, it’s very hard and emotional. I loved the story and love to be swept away by a book.
The Simple Wild by K. A. Tucker: this was fine, a very basic storyline with two main characters that hate each other for no reason and fight/flirt the entire time.
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab: this was a big commitment! I ended up really loving the story but know that it is a long saga with the devil being a main character. I liked it!
It’s One of Us by J. T. Ellison: this had elements of mystery but I think was a little too far-fetched to really be a gripping mystery novel. It was fine!
Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez: sometimes these books feel cheesy, I think this one felt a little more cheesy than usual but it was simple and easy to read!
Darling Girls by Sally Hepworth: very heartbreaking to read at times, but overall was invested in the characters and wanted them to come out on top in the end.
Pretty Things: A Novel by Janelle Brown: I got a little lost in this book, and found that I couldn’t keep track of what was happening. It was fine but not as gripping as I had hoped.
In the Likely Event: A Novel by Rebecca Yarros: a classic love story where the entire plot is two characters fighting about something that could be solved with one single conversation (a la Emily Henry books) but I still enjoyed it. Great build and tension!
The Women by Kristin Hannah: absolutely a 5-star read. I was deeply invested in this book and loved that the female main character was a little gritty and rough around the edges.
All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker: I feel as though I’m in the minority here but I really disliked this book. Too slow, nothing really happened, I was bored.
Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera: I enjoyed this! It was a mystery and I felt so unsure about “who did it” until they actually revealed it in the end.
The Last Love Note by Emma Grey: a heartbreaking novel about loss that really opened my eyes to how to care for people around me who experience loss in a better way.
Romantic Comedy: A Novel by Curtis Sittenfeld: there was a lot about this book that gave me the ick. 3 stars at best.
A Talent for Murder by Peter Swanson: felt lost and apathetic about this book. It was fine but nothing exceptional.
The People We Keep by Allison Larken: I really enjoyed this one! I love that it followed one person through so many different avenues in her life!
