It Ends With Us Post Credit Scene

It Ends With Us is easily the most anticipated book-to-film adaptation in recent memory. I saw it in theaters in a preview screening and when the lights didn’t immediately come on as the credits started to roll, I was stuck wondering if the film had a post-credits scene. After all, it’s not a Marvel movie.

Post-credits scenes have become ubiquitous, if not a little tiresome, in modern cinematic releases thanks to the MCU. Now, audiences want to know if they have to hang around right to the end, and while it’s nice to see and acknowledge all the people that make up a film’s cast and crew, we all have busy lives to get back to.

Does It Ends With Us have a post-credits scene?

Ok, I really thought it might be—as I said, the theater lights didn’t come on straight away and I thought there might’ve been a little nod to the follow-up, It Starts With Us. But no, there’s no post-credits scene and no indication as to whether a sequel to the film is coming.

However, Justin Baldoni, who stars as Ryle and serves as the first film’s director, weighed in on whether he’d pull back-to-back directing duty. “You’re gonna have to ask me in a little while. We’re gonna take a vacation after this,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I think there are better people for that one. I think Blake Lively is ready to direct. That’s what I think.”

In response, the book’s author Colleen Hoover told ET, “I had the best time working with everyone on this movie. I think whoever decides to take charge of the next one would do it justice. I think they’re all in it for the right reasons, so I think that will be exciting. But it’s a lot of people to get the same schedules together again, so we’ll see,” she said.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet of the It Ends With Us premiere, Brandon Sklenar, who plays adult Atlas, shared how he felt about doing the sequel. “I’d love to do it, if this thing hits,” he said. “I think it’s a beautiful book and I would love to get into Atlas’ life more—his mother and his relationship with her. I think it would be brilliant.”
