After months of rumors over what happened to their friendship, Chrishell and Amanza revealed the real reason for their feud in Selling Sunset Season 5, and boy, was there a lot we missed.
In Selling Sunset Season 5, Chrishell asked Amanza whether her stylist was coming to her birthday party, to which Amanza responded, “Yeah, but I literally told him today, ‘Do not start anything. Just stay out of it,’” to which Chrishell responded that she wasn’t going to attend Amanza’s birthday if her stylist was there. “He’s super homophobic and attacked me and G. I’m not gonna be in the same room as him,” Chrishell said, to which Amanza responded, “But he’s gay.”
In a confessional interview, Chrishell explained that the real reason behind her feud with Amanza was because of her stylists’ comments. “I feel like I’ve made a lot of headway with Amanza and my relationship with her, but I am just a little nervous to go to her birthday to be in the same room with the stylist that she worked with just because he was upset that I corrected him stating he was a stylist for me,” Chrishell said. “So then he went on a very public rant just saying I’m a fake lesbian, that I’m nothing but a green card to G, saying that I’ve gotta get some dick in my hole. Like what does this have to do with G. And everyone’s like, ‘Oh, but he’s gay.’ Does that excuse any of those comments? It makes it worse, to be honest.”
What happened between Chrishell and Amanza’s stylist from Selling Sunset?
The drama between Chrishell and Amanza’s stylist, Sammie, who also worked with Chrishell, started in June 2023 when Sammie claimed in an interview with Vice that he dressed Chrishell in an Ivy Park jumpsuit for Selling Sunset, which led Adidas to ask to send him more clothes for her to wear on the series.
“Ever since I started [on Selling Sunset], Instagram meme pages and closets have reached out to masking, ‘What season is this outfit that they’re wearing? Where is it from?’ so they can add it to their Instagram post. I put Chrishell in an Ivy Park jumpsuit and Adidas reached out asking to send me more stuff for the show,” Sammie said.
What did Amanza’s stylist’s say about Chrishell?
After the interview, Chrishell called out Sammie in an Instagram Story, where she denied that he dressed her in an Ivy Park jumpsuit and revealed that she bought the jumpsuit herself. She also maintained that she’s never worked with a stylist on Selling Sunset. “Most won’t know what this is about so just skip and I refuse to give attention to those so desperately seeking it while trying to completely twist things. An article came out where a stylist was quoted as having put me in the Ivy Park jumpsuit but I bought that suit and did not work with a stylist for any of Selling Sunset,” she wrote. “I had Vice change the article to reflect the truth. I worked with this person once on a shoot many years ago and have ignored the spiraling rants of ongoing dms and voice notes he has since sent. I have never tried to discredit this person—but I will correct things that aren’t true. Blocked and moving on.”
Chrishell also responded to Vice’s tweet of Sammie’s interview claiming that she would “never” work with Sammie again after their first time together. “I showed up to a photo shoot years ago with this “Sammie” and have never & would never work with him after that,” she tweeted “Him saying he put me in this Ivy Park suit when I just bought it is crazy to me. Please fact check these people @VICE this man is 🤪” Following Chrishell’s response, Vice edited their interview with Sammie to have him say that he put Amanza in an Ivy Park jumpsuit.
However, the drama didn’t stop there. After Chrishell’s Instagram Story, Sammie shared an Instagram post in which he accused Chrishell of discrediting his work as a stylist and bullying him. He also claimed that the photoshoot he worked with Chrishell on was originally supposed to feature her Selling Sunset rival, Christine Quinn.
“I was discredited by @chrishell.stause for a shoot I had worked on which was produced by My agent Fahad Ali @bookmanagement . The truth behind it was that the original model we had booked was @thechristinequinn , however Christine announced her pregnancy right after her trip to Bali in 2021, so my agent had to quickly find a replacement as everything was already in place,” he captioned an Instagram post of Chrishell’s photos from the shoot. “In a recent DM @chrishell.stause attacked me and discredited my work and bullied me. I’m not sure what medication she’s on but she clearly ‘forgot’ that I had styled her. @chrishell.stause , you talk about being authentic and here’s my truth babe!”
He continued, “Stay in your lane and give credit where credit is due. @thechristinequinn wish the shoot went as planned so I wouldn’t have to deal with such unprofessionalism and “amnesia”. My agent who produced this shoot even paid for Chrishell’s studio and glam team and was also NEVER credited .This was one of Chrishell’s best shoots in 2021 and was published numerous times including in @Forbes magazine and @elle_magazine. @chrishell.stause – An apology would be appreciated !”
Sammie also shared a series of Instagram Stories in which he seemingly accused her of “acting” like a lesbian. (Chrishell is dating nonbinary singer G Flip.) “Stop hurting people and hurting my friends,” Sammie captioned a screenshot of him blocking Chrishell’s Instagram page. He continued in another Instagram Story, “Take your fake canal handbag from turkey sweetheart.”
He also wrote in another Instagram Story, “Chrishell please stop being lesbian the acting is not real.” He added in another Instagram Story, “The proof is all I need. So chrisell stick a d cause our h o l e g flip hasn’t given you any action.”
What happened between Chrishell and Amanza from Selling Sunset?
On one of his Instagram Stories, Sammie also shared a screenshot of a text exchange between him and Amanza, in which he claims that he originally told Vice that he dressed Amanza, not Chrishell. “I told them that ivy park sent you pieces. The magazine by mistake said chrisell. She’s is a nut case,” he wrote to which Amanza responded, “Yep, she’s all drama and only cares about herself and her stupid squeaky clean image that’s actually not squeaky clean at all.”
Along with their public feud, fans also shared a screenshot of a past interaction between Sammie and Chrishell that highlighted their relationship. “Ur missing me,” Sammie commented on an Instagram photo of Chrishell, who responded, “Nope! Did this on my own and love it. Clothes are so fun.” Sammie then replied, “lol I want to send you some vintage chanel.”
Selling Sunset is available to stream on Netflix.
