However, Biles has been open about her injuries preceding the Olympic events. At the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, she had to take a step back after experiencing the twisties. “It doesn’t feel comfortable, I have no idea where I am, but I’m twisting, praying I land on my feet,” Biles said on the podcast “Call Her Daddy.” “I felt like I was fighting my body and my mind to do these tricks.”

Why Is Simone Biles wearing a boot?

Simone Biles is wearing a boot as a “precaution” after her events. “We’re resting up as much as possible,” Biles explained to Today. “We have tour in a couple weeks. So, I’m just going to rest and heal.”

She assured that it isn’t an extreme injury and that she’s on the way to recovery. “Calf is good,” she told NBC. “It’s just precautionary, making sure, because we still have tour after this to heal up and all of that stuff. So, just a little bit of soreness.”

U.S. national team technical lead Chellsie Memmel was concerned over the calf in the past couple of weeks. “I haven’t even got to speak to Simone. I need to speak with our team, our medical team, but I don’t have an answer about that. I just first and foremost, I just want to make sure she’s physically okay,” Memmel said, per NBC News.

Biles also opened about her mental health journey at the Olympics with Hoda Kotb. She explained to the host that she would regularly see her therapist at the Olympic village. “I saw her about three or four times throughout this whole entire process and it didn’t matter if it was before all-around or after qualifications,” Biles recalled. “I went back to the village and I got on a call with her and did my therapy session because that’s routine for me now,” she said, adding that the routine made her “comfortable and confident to compete.”
